FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – Consumer sentiment seems to have improved somewhat in the United States in December, although the economic expectations have deteriorated, according to preliminary estimates by the University of Michigan.
Consumer sentiment Index has improved to 59.1 in December from 55.3 in November, instead of a slight decline to 55.0 as the experts had forecasted.
The current situation assessment has jumped to 69.4 in December from 57.5 in November, while the economic expectations index have worsened to 52.4 in December from 53.9 in November.
Inflation forecasts have decreased sharply from last month, as the 12-month inflation expectation dropped t0 1.7% in December from 2.9% in November
